Ohio State baseball has already found its new baseball coach after the firing of Greg Beals in May. It will be former TCU associate head coach Bill Mosiello per Kevin Harrish of Eleven Warriors.

The Buckeyes announced that Beals would not be returning for the 2023 season following the team’s 21-30 record in 2022. Mosiello first joined the TCU staff in 2013, where he took over the hitting/offensive coaching role as well as associate head coach. Under Mosiello, the Horned Frogs reached 4 straight CWS appearances from 2014-2017 and 6 NCAA Tournaments.

Here’s what Mosiello had to say about the new opportunity per a press release from the athletic department:

“I am incredibly excited to lead the Ohio State baseball program,” said Mosiello. “I have been blessed to have had a lot of great experiences throughout my career, and the opportunity to come to such a prestigious school like Ohio State and work with tremendous student-athletes and staff is something I am truly excited about. I want to thank Shaun Richard and Gene Smith for putting their trust in me. That all being said, a part of my heart will always be in TCU. The last nine years were truly special and the relationships that I made with the players and staff will be part of my life forever.”
