According to WLFI, Purdue safety Andy Chelf was the victim of a shooting early on Sunday morning.

The shooting reportedly took place at the 200 block of Wiggins St. in West Lafayette. WLFI reported that offers arrived at the scene to find that Chelf suffered a gunshot wound to his torso.

While Chelf’s current condition is unknown, he did take to Twitter to let everyone know that the shooting wasn’t fatal.

The investigation is still ongoing.

Chelf has not played in a game since arriving at Purdue in 2015. The sophomore was, however, one of the stars of the Boilermakers’ spring game on Saturday. He registered a scrimmage-high nine tackles and recovered a fumble.

Purdue has yet to comment on the incident.
