Nebraska adds Southern Miss DH transfer Charlie Fischer
Nebraska added Southern Miss designated hitter transfer Charlie Fischer Wednesday afternoon.
Fischer had quite the season in 2021 and was held back from his true potential with a hand injury in 2022. Fischer started 53 games as DH, smacking 7 home runs and totaling 37 RBI, per Omaha-World Herald.

The Cornhuskers are in full rebuild mode after a 23-30 season in 2022. Fischer, despite struggling this season with a .167 average following his hand injury suffered in April, could help Nebraska back to the postseason. The Cornhuskers made the tournament in 2019 and 2021.
The 6-foot-2 power hitter will retain 1 season of eligibility.
