Illinois basketball unveils numbers for new arrivals

Illinois basketball welcomes 8 newcomers to the team this upcoming season. Wednesday, the Fighting Illini unveiled which number each newcomer will wear via Twitter.

Below are the number assignments for each player:
- Skyy Clark: 55
- Dain Dainja: 42
- Jayden Epps: 3
- Sencire Harris: 1
- Matthew Mayer: 24
- Ty Rodgers: 20
- Terrence Shannon: 0
- Patrick Warden: 22
Illinois is poised for quite the season. Matthew Mayer and Terrence Shannon were two of the top transfer targets in the nation, and the Fighting Illini posted the No. 2 transfer ranking (2nd to Texas Tech) per 247 Sports.
Skyy Clark, Ty Rodgers, Jayden Epps and Sencire Harris make up the No. 6 class in the 2022 cycle. Clark, a former Kentucky commit, highlights the class as the No. 5 point guard in the country.
Patrick Warden is a late addition walk-on to the Illinois program.
