Northwestern head coach Pat Fitzgerald and his staff added a commitment from the class of 2023 on Thursday.
But it’s not just any regular commitment, though.
As you can see from the tweet below, Jack Fitzgerald, a tight end from Loyola Academy in Wilmette, IL, pledged to the Wildcats. And yes, he’s the son of Pat Fitzgerald:

The younger Fitzgerald is certainly no stranger to the Wildcats football program: his father has been the head man since 2006, initially coming to Evanston as a defensive backs coach in 2001 before moving on to coach linebackers and eventually adding recruiting coordinator to his duties.
As for the rest of the Fitzgerald brothers, Ryan is currently a quarterback at Loyola Academy and graduates in 2024, while the youngest of the Fitzgerald brothers, Brendan, is still a middle-schooler. But the oldest of the 3 has made the decision to embrace the opportunity to play for his father at the collegiate level next year.
