Penn State continues to add to what should be a top-5 recruiting class for 2023. This time, the Nittany Lions landed what looks to be a promising defensive back recruit.
On Saturday, DaKaari Nelson committed to Penn State. A 6-f00t-3 and 203 lb. safety out of Selma, Alabama, Nelson has generated strong offers from across the country, including from Auburn, Clemson, Michigan, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Arkansas.

According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Nelson is a 4-star prospect and the No. 23 safety in the nation. He is also a top-300 player in the country regardless of position and the No. 19 overall recruit out of Alabama. Nelson joins fellow Alabama 4-star Tomarrion Parker – a defensive lineman – with his pledge to the Nittany Lions.
Penn State continues a positive track for the 2023 recruiting class with 15 total commitments. That group ranks 4th nationally in the team recruiting rankings.
