Michigan lands commitment from 4-star LB, No. 2 ranked player out of Tennessee for 2024

The race to compile recruiting classes for the 2023 cycle is in full swing. As we head into the heart of summer, more and more prospects are making college commitments before hitting the gridiron for their senior seasons.

However, recruiting never stops, even for future cycles. That proved to be the case Monday when Michigan landed an early commitment for the class of 2024.

The commitment came from Mason Curtis, a 6-foot-4 and 200 lb. linebacker out of Ensworth High School in Nashville, Tennessee. Curtis had already drawn a number of Power 5 offers, including from Michigan State, Tennessee, Kentucky, South Carolina and Louisville, among others.

“I am thankful for ALL of the coaches that have invested time in my recruitment,” Curtis wrote in his announcement. “I’ve enjoyed getting to know each of you and I am humbled by the opportunities presented. With that being said, I am committed to THE University of Michigan!”

According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Curtis is a 4-star prospect and the 203rd overall prospect nationally, regardless of position. Curtis is also the No. 2 player out of Tennessee and the No. 14 LB in the country for the class of 2024.
