Collin Wilder is hanging up his football cleats after finishing his college career at Wisconsin.

In a note on Twitter, Wilder revealed NFL teams gave him feedback about his health with Wilder calling his body “too jacked up to play” at the next level. He did not reveal any immediate plans for the future.

“When the NFL said my body was too jacked up to play I know I played this game the right way,” Wilder wrote via social media. “I only knew one way to play football and it was with VIOLENCE. Because of that I can be at peace…

“Football didn’t end the way I wanted it to but that’s life, and God always gets glorified regardless…Though my playing days are over, I will be ready to put my heart and soul into something else.”

A transfer safety from Houston, Wilder appeared in 32 games with 14 starts across 3 seasons for the Badgers. He was named an All-B1G honorable mention following the 2021 season.

Wilder finished the 2021 season with 32 total tackles, 3 interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
