Terry McLaurin discusses missing practice during contract negotiations with Washington Commanders

Terry McLaurin has his new contract, agreeing to a big three-year extension with the Washington Commanders recently. That deal immediately puts McLaurin among the highest-paid group of receivers in the NFL.
On Wednesday, McLaurin met with the media to discuss that new deal. During that session, McLaurin was asked about his feelings about missing team OTAs while negotiating his new deal.
McLaurin admitted he felt “weird” and that it was hard to miss those reps as a player who does not miss practices. However, he understands why it needed to happen for business deals to be made and was fortunate to have the support of his teammates throughout.

McLaurin was also asked about playing with a number of quarterbacks in short order during his time with Washington. That list of QBs will get another name this season with Carson Wentz joining the Commanders in the offseason.
Among other things, McLaurin said his goal as a receiver is to make his QB look good. He also said he’s been working on building a trust level with Wentz, both as a player and as an individual away from the field.
Terry McLaurin, when asked about playing with his 9th QB since entering the league, said his goal is to “make them look good.” He added that Carson Wentz is “somebody I’ve connected with on a very personal level” and that Wentz checked in on him regularly throughout free agency.

Hopefully Wentz and McLaurin are able to team up for a strong run this season.
