Class of 2023 prospect and Iowa women’s basketball commit Ava Jones was stuck by a vehicle in Louisville, Kentucky Tuesday.

Jones, her parents and brother were all transported to the local hospital after an impaired driver struck them on the sidewalk. At this time, Jones and her parents, Amy and Trey, are in critical condition, per Billy Watson of The Hutchinson News. Jones’ younger brother suffered only minor injuries, per report.

According to Jones’ grandmother, the Hawkeyes commit is expected to make a full recovery.

“They tell us Ava will recover fully,” said Mary Jones, Ava’s grandmother via The Hutchinson News.

Jones was in Louisville for an AAU tournament and is considered to be the No. 83 prospect in the class of 2023. She averaged 20.8 points and 15.4 rebounds at Nickerson High School in her home state of Kansas.
