A familiar face is back in West Lafayette. Tom Dienhart of Rivals GoldandBlack.com is reporting that Neil Callaway is back on Jeff Brohm’s Purdue staff.
Deinhart reports Callaway will be an offensive analyst for the Boilermakers. While this will be Callaway’s third consecutive season on Brohm’s staff, the circumstances are a little different this time around. It was reported in January that Callaway was retiring from coaching.
The retirement, however, did not last long. In March, he accepted the offensive line position with the Michigan Panthers of the USFL.
Callaway, 66, has been in coaching since 1980. He joined the Purdue staff in 2020 as a senior analyst. Brohm promoted Callaway to assistant offensive line coach for the 2021 season.
