Samson Okunlola recruitment: 247 Sports analyst updates where things stand for elite 5-star OT

Samson Okunlola is an elite 5-star talent and one of the top offensive linemen for the class of 2023. Originally looking at making a couple of official visits in the fall before revealing his commitment, National Analyst Brian Dohn with 247 Sports revealed that Okunlola’s decision could come as soon as this summer.
During an interview with Recruiting Analyst Blair Angulo, Dohn discussed a recent conversation with Okunlola and the potential change to his timeline. Okunlola also mentioned the programs that are standing out this summer, including Mel Tucker’s Michigan State program.
“He was talking about he made some visits, and he’s got Oregon, Alabama, Miami and Michigan State are the ones really standing out and most contact,” said Dohn. “He spoke about maybe getting things done during the summer which would be a change of plans for him.
“He may get it done at some point, he talked about maybe late July, maybe early August.”

According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Okunlola is a 5-star recruit and the No. 3 OT nationally for the class of 2023. He is also rated the No. 20 overall prospect regardless of position.
Okunlola took 3 visits during June to the Spartans, Alabama and Miami. It will be interesting to see if it is a program from that group that is able to land his commitment.
