Michigan is trying to improve on the 2023 recruiting class, and the Wolverines landed a nice commitment on Wednesday. In the process, Jim Harbaugh’s squad edged out rival Michigan State for the pledge.

The commitment comes from Enow Etta, a 4-star defensive lineman out of Colleyville, Texas. Listed at 6-foot-4 and 260 lbs., Etta had previously revealed a finalist group of Michigan, Michigan State, Alabama and Stanford.

According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Etta is the No. 19 DL nationally and 125th overall prospect regardless of position for the class of 2023. The Wolverines also hold a commitment from 3-star DL Brooks Bahr out of Illinois.

With his commitment, Etta becomes the highest-ranked player currently committed to the Wolverines for the 2023 cycle. Jim Harbaugh’s group was ranked 45th nationally by the team recruiting rankings prior to landing Etta.
