Jonathan Taylor boasted back-to-back 2,000-plus yard seasons as a sophomore and junior with Wisconsin in 2018 and 2019, while coming just 23 yards of the mark as a freshman in 2018. He left Madison with 6,174 career rushing yards, one of just 7 players in FBS history to break the 6,000-yard mark.

And that success has continued in the NFL. After being drafted in the 2nd round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts, Taylor ran for 1,169 yards as a rookie. In his 2nd season, he won the NFL rushing title with 1,811 yards and finished with a league-high 18 touchdowns on the ground, adding 360 receiving yards to end the year with 2,171 yards from scrimmage. He’s also the youngest player in NFL history with at least 2,000 scrimmage yards and 20 scrimmage touchdowns.

Taylor will be out to break the 2,000-yard plateau again in 2022. And as ESPN NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky notes, doing so will put him in a rather exclusive club:

As you can see, not many players have done what Taylor has an opportunity to do in the upcoming season. And it shows that the Badger great, who has quickly made a name for himself as one of the NFL’s top running backs, hasn’t missed a beat from his college years.
