Tim Beck is a well-traveled man.

The new Texas offensive coordinator coached in several states over the course of his 29-year career. His two most recent stops before Texas, of course, were at Nebraska (2011-14) and Ohio State (2015-16).

But apparently Beck’s travels didn’t teach him a basic rule of geography.

In an attempt to hype up Texas’ defensive backs — he called them DBU? — Beck delivered this bit of knowledge:

In theory, Beck’s tweet would work. The problem, however, was that his defensive backs don’t have to cover the other two-thirds of the earth.

It’s actually 71 percent of the earth that’s covered by water.

Had Beck said that two-thirds of the earth was covered by water, he’d get the benefit of the doubt. What’s five percent?

But Beck won’t be teaching any geography classes anytime soon with facts like that.
