Incoming freshman Tre Holloman knows what it means to play basketball for Michigan State and Tom Izzo. This season, he is trying to show that he has what it takes to be a reliable option on offense per Nathaniel Bott of the Lansing State Journal.

Holloman has been playing in the Moneybag Pro-Am as of late, a preseason summer tournament, where he just scored 25 points. Holloman is using the tournament as an opportunity to grow his game and get better. Right now, he is trying to do everything a point guard needs to do. Holloman was a former 4-star PG per the 247Sports Composite.

“Coming in and playing good defense, giving energy, taking care of the basketball and pushing it and finding open guys, just making plays really,” Holloman said. “Then, once I get in a groove, the ball starts dropping so look to see that this year, too.”

The transition hasn’t been easy for Holloman, but the Michigan State community has welcomed him with open arms he says. He also stated that veterans like A.J. Hoggard and Tyson Walker have made it much easier for him. It looks like Holloman is already on his way.

“It’s a been a change, but I’ve got guys like A.J. and Tyson who have been like big brothers to me,” Holloman said. “I’ve been getting bigger, I think I’ve gained like 15 pounds, and the people here love us and want autographs and it’s been a really fun environment so far.”
