The police sought help from the public to track down Robertson, who was missing until Sunday morning.

Robertson was kicked off MSU on Friday following the announcement that he was charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct. The charge stemmed from an April 9 incident in which Robertson allegedly forced a friend to have sex with him at her apartment after walking her home from a party.

While he was in high school, Robertson faced a battery charge. Robertson allegedly inappropriately touched a female classmate and didn’t sign with MSU on National Signing Day in 2016. He eventually signed with MSU, but the charge wasn’t dropped until he completed a diversionary program last month.

Mark Dantonio released a statement upon Robertson’s dismissal, saying that he went through “a vetting process” and that he “broke our trust and expectations.”

Robertson’s charge was separate from the ongoing investigation into an alleged sexual assault in January that involved three suspended MSU players and an assistant coach.
