Lathan Ransom was injured during the Rose Bowl, suffering a broken leg while working on the kickoff coverage unit for Ohio State. Fortunately, the Buckeyes are hoping to have him available to start the 2022 season.
According to Nathan Baird with Cleveland.com, head coach Ryan Day announced Ransom should be on track to play in the season opener on Sept. 3 vs. Notre Dame. Day indicated Ransom might miss some early drills in camp but should maintain on track for the regular season.
During the 2021 season, Ransom had 38 tackles, 2.5 TFL and a sack. The Buckeyes did bring in Tanner McCallister to Columbus via the transfer portal to rejoin DC Jim Knowles at Ohio State. If healthy, Ransom is still likely to see the field early as a depth piece in the secondary.
