Rico Jackson – a 3-star offensive lineman originally committed to Illinois – has decided to reopen his recruitment. He made the news official via a note on social media Friday.

Jackson’s original commitment to the Illini came on June 5 after making an official visit to Champaign. Jackson did not reveal any additional details at the time of his announcement to reopen his recruitment.

Rated as a 3-star offensive tackle, Jackson had been 1 of 3 offensive linemen committed to Illinois for the class of 2023. Listed at 6-foot-6 and 295 lbs., Jackson is rated as the No. 120 OT nationally by the 247 Sports Composite Rankings.

Since his commitment to Illinois, Jackson has received Power 5 offers from South Carolina and North Carolina State. It will be interesting to see if he generates more offers over the summer and into his senior season.
