Aidan Hutchinson surprised his coaching staff with his singing ability at the Detroit Lions training camp.

Hutchinson, who was the No. 2 overall selection in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Michigan, left quite the first impression on his teammates by singing for the team. It is normal for rookies in the NFL to perform for their teammates. It seems that Hutchinson embraced this duty and left a mark on his coaching staff.

Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn praised Hutchinson’s singing:

“Outstanding,” Glenn said. “He’s a lot more athletic than we thought he was.”

Hutchinson reminded his defensive coordinator of what it was like in the past for rookies to put on a show for the team.

“It just reminded me of old school…the way he accepted it and went up there and performed. He has a personality to him that you don’t see from most rookies.”

Hutchinson’s show was not the only part of his rookie training camp that impressed the coaching staff. Head coach Dan Campbell praised Hutchinson for his work ethic and how he conducts himself in meetings:

“He just goes out there and works his ass off and in meetings he keeps his mouth shut until he has a question,” Campbell said.

The Lions finished 2021 with a 3-13-1 record and they will need Hutchinson to be part of the team’s rebuild.
