NFL executives probably shouldn’t take much advice from professional athletes. Especially when those athletes have made a living in a different sport.

But Kevin Durant might be the exception to that rule. The NBA star and 2014 Most Valuable Player is apparently pretty good at scoping out talent on the college football field.

With Golden State making quick work of the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, Durant seems to be using his spare time to evaluate draft options for San Francisco.

And with the second pick, Durant believes the 49ers should take Ohio State CB Malik Hooker:

That wouldn’t be a bad selection for the 49ers, considering Hooker’s athletic ability. According to the most recent mock draft completed by Sports Illustrated, Hooker was pegged as the seventh player off the board and would land in San Diego.

Word of Durant’s advice circulated throughout Twitter quickly the night before the draft and was eventually discovered by the former Buckeye CB.

Needless to say, Hooker thought Durant’s statement was pretty intelligent:

Hooker finished the 2016 season with 74 tackles and seven interceptions. He returned three of those for interceptions.

We’ll see if San Francisco takes Durant’s advice on Thursday night.
