Jason Benetti called his share of B1G football and basketball games while with ESPN.

The popular play-by-play man will still be calling B1G football, only for FOX Sports. Benetti, whose hiring was officially announced by the network on Thursday, will be paired with Brock Huard as FOX’s No. 2 college football broadcast team, replacing Joe Davis as the latter was named the network’s lead MLB announcer.

But his first assignment won’t be for a game played stateside. Rather, according to sports media insider Rudy Martzke, Benetti and Huard will call Nebraska and Northwestern’s meeting in a Week 0 matchup on Aug. 27 set to take place in Dublin, Ireland. Kickoff on FOX is set for 12:30 p.m. ET.

Benetti will be a busy man, continuing to call White Sox games for NBC Sports Chicago and rounding out his first year behind the mic for Peacock’s Sunday MLB package. While he’ll balance his role with NBC Sports Chicago and FOX, he’ll give up his Peacock duties at the close of baseball season.
