Darius Snow opens up on position change with Michigan State defense

Darius Snow opened fall camp at Michigan State with some big move this off-season. In 2022, Snow has moved from safety to linebacker for the Spartans.
Snow was a 3-star recruit from Carrollton, Texas, as the 437th top-rated prospect and 28th best outside linebacker for the 2020 recruiting class, according to 247Sports Composite.
Last season, Snow accounted for 87 total tackles (third on the team), 61 solo tackles (tied for first on the team), 5.5 tackles for loss, 2 pass breakups, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 interception. He was moved from safety to linebacker to provide depth and talent to Michigan State’s 4-2-5 defense.
When asked about the position change and its impact on his playing ability, Snow responded, “I feel like an athlete.” Hopefully, this move from safety to linebacker allows him to stretch the field and get closer to the line of scrimmage.

According to Ourlads, he is projected to backup senior Jacoby Windmon, a transfer from UNLV.
