Evan Pryor hopes to carve out bigger role with Ohio State in 2022: ‘I can score points’

Evan Pryor is looking to be a bigger part of Ohio State’s offense in 2022. And when it comes to who will be in the backfield behind C.J. Stroud; the Buckeyes might have multiple answers to that question.
TreVeyon Henderson is obviously the heavy favorite after bursting onto the scene as a freshman with the Scarlet and Gray. Henderson rushed for 1,248 yards and 15 touchdowns en route to Freshman All-American Honors.
Henderson’s yards and 19 total touchdowns (4 receiving) were Ohio State freshman records. His accolades have him in the conversation for the Heisman Trophy this season.
The Buckeyes also have another talented back in Evan Pryor. The North Carolina native was a 4-star recruit in the Buckeyes’ 2021 class. Pryor red-shirted after appearing in four games as a freshman. The second-year back appears confident in his abilities.

The Buckeyes have another back in Miyan Williams that will see playing time. Williams was a 3-star prospect out of the Cincinnati area in the 2020 class.
Tony Alford said Ohio State's top three running backs — TreVeyon Henderson, Miyan Williams, Evan Pryor — all deserve to play this year and it's his job to find a way to get them all opportunities on the field.

Running backs coach Tony Alford could have a good problem on his hands. Ohio State could essentially keep Henderson fresh by rotating in Pryor and Williams. Or they can feature all three on the field.
The Buckeyes open with Notre Dame in Columbus on Sept. 3. Ohio State’s first B1G conference game is against Wisconsin on Sept. 24.
This might be a situation to watch as the Buckeyes move through their schedule.
