Mark Whipple critical of offensive showing in Nebraska’s most recent fall practice

Mark Whipple, Nebraska’s new OC, didn’t hold back on his criticism of the Cornhuskers’ offense.
On Wednesday, Whipple said the offense had a bad day, felt sorry for themselves, and didn’t like being yelled at. Yikes!

Not a good update from fall practice for 2022. Whipple also said the offense didn’t have much juice when they came out to practice this morning and that although this may happen sometimes, the team is going to have to find a way to push through it.

Whipple admitted too that the defense was ahead of the offense, which is a little bit of good news for Cornhusker fans. One of the reasons this offense may struggle early on is because of the transfer of quarterback Adrian Martinez to Kansas State.
Last year, Martinez threw for nearly 3,000 yards and 14 passing touchdowns, but Martinez was tired of losing and decided to move on to KSU, which has had more success recently than the Cornhuskers.
So part of the fall practice will be to find who will replace Martinez at quarterback. Many believe going into fall practice it will be Casey Thompson, and head coach Scott Frost has said he’s a frontrunner for the job.
But maybe once the Cornhuskers announced who their new field general will be, the offense will be back on track.
Among other issues from Wednesday, Mickey Joseph confirmed a pair of receivers were held out of practice. Hopefully, that duo returns quickly as any missed time is a concern at this point.
