Tom Brady will be missing from the The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ joint practices with the Tennessee Titans according to his HC Todd Bowles. The practices are set for Aug. 17-18.

Bowles stated that Brady is going to be back after the joint practices, but will be absent to take care of some personal things. Brady and Bowles apparently already spoke about this before training camp. The former Michigan QB will already not be playing in the team’s 1st 2 preseason games.

“Tom has been excused today,” said Bowles. “He’ll be back somewhere around after Tennessee. We allotted this time because he wanted to get in and get chemistry with the guys, and go through the two weeks of training camp, knowing he wasn’t going to play the first two games.”

Brady also wanted to make sure that he wasn’t going to be taking any reps from other QBs on the roster. Blaine Gabbert, Kyle Trask, and Ryan Griffin are all expected to see some action this preseason.

“He didn’t want to take away reps from Blaine Gabbert and Kyle Trask as well as Ryan Griffin as far as going into these next two games,” said Bowles. And it’s something he needs to handle. We trust him. We talked about it. It was scheduled way before training camp.”
