An Ohio State RB is expected to miss 2022 with an injury sustained in fall training camp.

According to reporter Austin Ward, second-year running back Evan Pryor sustained an injury that is expected to keep him sidelined for 2022. That setback is reported to be a knee injury for Pryor, a 4-star prospect in the class of 2021.

Though Ohio State should still have a deep backfield, Pryor was expected to play a role with the Buckeye offense this season.

According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Pryor was a 4-star recruit and the No. 6 RB nationally for the class of 2022. He was also a top-100 prospect nationally out of Cornelius, North Carolina.

As a freshman, Pryor had just 21 carries but was effective with 98 yards and a touchdown on those touches. With the departure of Master Teague to the NFL, Pryor was expected to play a larger role in 2022.

TreVeyon Henderson is anchored into the No. 1 spot for the Buckeyes with Miyan Williams expected to serve as a third-down back this year. Pryor recently said in fall camp that he “proved I’m a weapon” and was planning on a versatile role with the offense. Unfortunately, it looks like those plans will have to wait.
