the 6-foot-3, 245 pound defensive lineman committed to play for Mel Tucker and the Michigan State Spartans Monday afternoon. He chose State over Cincinnati, Penn State, Ohio State and Pittsburgh, among others.

Thompson represents Michigan State’s fourth highest rated commit of the 2023 cycle. He’s considered to be the No. 197 overall player in the nation, as well as the 3oth ranked defensive lineman and the No. 3 prospect out of the state of Michigan.

Thompson is one of two defensive lineman, not including 4-star edge Bai Jobe, to commit to Michigan State in the 2023 cycle so far. The Spartans landed a commitment from Iowa native and 4-star defensive lineman Andrew Depaepe back in February.
