Paul Chryst might have some explaining to do.

Three-star quarterback recruit Ben Bryant was committed to Wisconsin. That is, until he tweeted out that he received an offer from Georgia:

According to a report from Scout.com, Wisconsin pulled Bryant’s offer because of that tweet.

“I got a call this morning from Wisconsin saying that there’s no longer a spot for me there because I posted that I got another offer,” Bryant said in a message to Scout.com. “Very disappointed.”

Bryant committed to Wisconsin back in December. The La Grange, Ill. native told Scout.com that the Georgia offer wasn’t going to make any impact on his decision to stay committed to Wisconsin.

Wisconsin did just receive a commitment from three-star quarterback Chase Wolf last week. But according to Bryant, he was told that the Badgers planned on having two quarterbacks in the 2018 class and that Wolf’s commitment didn’t effect him.

Coaches cannot mention unsigned recruits by name, per NCAA rules. With spring ball over, Chryst might not get a chance to explain his side of the story for a while, if ever.

Recruits tweet about offers all the time without any sort of backlash, much less having a scholarship pulled. If that was indeed the case, Wisconsin is certainly in the minority with that policy.
