Nick Saban – arguably the greatest college football coach of all time – is getting paid again.

That’s right, Saban is once against the highest-paid coach in college football, according to various reports. The king of Alabama is receiving a contract extension through the 2029 season worth $11.7 million per year, per Alex Scarborough with ESPN.

Saban’s deal bumps Georgia head coach Kirby Smart out of the top spot ($11.2 million). Smart led Georgia to its first national championship since 1980 last season after defeating Saban’s Tide. The rematch came after Alabama defeated Georgia in the SEC Championship.

Saban has won seven national titles during his coaching tenure, including six with Alabama (2009,2011, 2012,2015,2017 and 2020). Saban has been with the Crimson Tide since 2007.

His other championship came with LSU in 2003. Saban also served as head coach for Michigan State from 1995-1999.

Some might say Saban’s new contract is the status quo for one of college football’s greatest dynasties. The Crimson Tide will look to reclaim their throne on the college football mountain top with another title this season.
