Greg Schiano spoke about how his offense is coming along at a recent scrimmage. There are still some things that he needs to work out before the season opener per Kristian Dyer of Rutgers Wire.

The Scarlet Knights have Noah Vedral returning for the 2022 season, but Schiano is focusing on the offensive line that will be blocking for him. Schiano believes that he is very close to figuring out who will be on his offensive line.

“I think we’re close,” said Schiano. “I think we know who the best eight are. And then I think we know who the best 12 are, right? So we’ve got them ranked. I’m just not sure out of the best eight if we know who the best five are – that’ll be the decision. Which is a little bit of a brain twister there, right?”

Schiano is very much a believer in the philosophy that the offensive line will dictate how well the offense moves down the field. He is feeling very good after what he saw from the scrimmage.

“Very game like with all the kicking situations, we hit all the field situations, situational football,” said Schiano. “I’ll watch the tape and see about all the execution but we’re able to move the ball some on offense, which was good. So yeah, I think overall a positive day,”

Rutgers opens the 2022 season with a road game against Boston College on Sept. 3 at Noon ET on ACC Network.
