The 2022 college football season is almost upon us. Mark Schlabach of ESPN gave 3 bold predictions for each of the Power 5 conferences.

His first prediction has to do with Ohio State. Schlabach thinks that the Buckeyes will have not 1, but 2 Heisman Finalists when it’s all said and done. C.J. Stroud is a name that most Heisman voters should be well acquainted with, but the other is going to be 1 of 2 people. Schlabach can also see TreVeyon Henderson or Jaxon Smith-Njigba making a push for the award.

Schlabach also doesn’t have the season going too well for Nebraska. He believes that Scott Frost won’t even make it through the year before getting fired. It could be doable from a financial standpoint, as the Cornhuskers just restructured Frost’s contract recently. Frost will get fired after the Purdue game on Oct. 15, according to Schlabach.

Lastly, he gave his pick for the champion of the B1G West. Minnesota has a good chance to do it, says Schlabach. 1 of the reasons he likes the Golden Gophers is because of their new offensive coordinator Kirk Ciarrocca. Having Mohamed Ibrahim around for a full season should also help if he stays healthy.

We’ll see how the season pans out.
