Call it whatever you want: Bad luck, poor coaching or just straight up ineptitude. Nebraska football has made losing close games an artform in the past few seasons.
The Huskers led by 11 points twice in Saturday’s 31-28 loss to Northwestern in Dublin, Ireland. Both disappeared at some point, one of which was kickstarted by an ill-advised onside kick attempt.
It’s just what Scott Frost’s Nebraska teams do at this point. This crazy stat below backs that reality up.

It goes even further than that though. All of Nebraska’s 12 most recent losses have come by a margin of less than 10 points. Nebraska has a positive point differential across its past 13 games.
Since the start of 2021…
