Malachi Coleman is the top overall recruit out of Nebraska for the class of 2023. He also addressed a wild message board rumor that began circulating over the weekend.
In a screenshot shared by Craig Coleman, two posters on an “Inside Nebraska” message board are seen speculating about a potential suspension for Coleman who is in his senior high school season. One poster even speculated about “attitude-character problems.”
If you think potential recruits (16-18 year old kids) don’t see this stuff you are gravely mistaken. Talking like this based solely on rumors about a high school kid doesn’t make it easy to encourage my kid to become a Husker and be subject to this for the next 4-5 years. pic.twitter.com/HXMrNaXtCM

Needless to say, Malachi Coleman and his family were not thrilled with the wild speculation. Malachi eventually cleared the air on social media, announcing he sustained a knee injury in his last game and his outlook for a return was still being determined.
He also made it clear he was not suspended nor did he get in trouble over anything:
Just to set everything straight, I am not suspended from anything nor did I get in trouble for anything. I suffered a knee injury during my last game and my return is being determined right now. Thank you #RollSparts

According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Coleman is a 4-star prospect, the top player out of Nebraska and the No. 76 recruit in the country for the class of 2023.
Early in August, Coleman kept the Huskers and Michigan on his list of final programs he is considering. We’ll see where he winds up to begin his college career.
