Greg Schiano provided an update on junior running back Aaron Young Monday afternoon.

Young has been limited after an injury suffered in spring practice slowed his progress. The Scarlet Knights are looking to replace last year’s top running back in Isaih Pacheco, who was drafted 251st overall by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2022 NFL Draft.

According to Schiano, Young’s status is still an unknown less than a week away from Game 1.

It seems as if the Scarlet Knights will have to rely on sophomore back Kyle Monangai, who played well for Rutgers last season as a third option. In 2021, Monangai totaled 235 yards rushing with 4 touchdowns.
