Casey Thompson came to Nebraska after starting his career at Texas. That move obviously brought with it a number of questions about the two schools, but the quarterback is done talking about this past.

During his media appearance Tuesday, Thompson made a formal request to no longer receive questions about the Longhorns. He pointed to a question he received last week asking about the differences at the skill positions for both teams and a desire to not “stir the pot” with his comments.

Thompson said he’s still close with a number of the Longhorns but is ultimately focused on moving forward with Nebraska:

“I’m very close to those over at Texas and I wish those guys best of luck this season,” said Thompson. “I’m still close to a lot of the players… I respect them, but moving forward I don’t really want to be asked questions about Texas because I’m focused on Nebraska and moving forward with this team.”

In Week 0, Thompson played well at times and had a strong debut for the team. Unfortunately, had a pair of late interceptions as Northwestern stormed back for the upset win.

We’ll see how Thompson and the Huskers look in Week 1.
