ESPN’s FPI predicts the winner of every college football game each season, and is back for 2022. 1 of the B1G games in Week 1 will be Maryland vs. Buffalo.
The Terps are looking to make some noise this season after a 7-6 finish in 2021. Taulia Tagovailoa was 1 of the most exciting B1G QBs to watch, and will be looking to pass his numbers from last year. Rakim Jarrett, Dontay Demus Jr., and Jacob Copeland should also be deadly combination.
The Football Power Index believes that Maryland will not have many problems when it comes to handling Buffalo, giving them an 88.2% chance of winning. The Terrapins and Bulls have never met before.
Head coach Mike Locksley will be looking to build off the 7-6 season the team had last year. Maryland bested Virginia Tech 54-10 in the Pinstripe Bowl in 2021. The Terps have not made back-to-back bowl games since 2013 and 2014. It would also be the 1st time that Maryland would have done that since joining the B1G back in 2014.
Maryland is favored in the majority of its games, except for Michigan (Sept. 24), Michigan State (Oct. 1), Wisconsin (Nov. 5), Penn State (Nov. 12), and Ohio State (Nov. 19).
You can watch Maryland take on Buffalo Saturday at noon ET on BTN.
