College GameDay will feature a reunion of the 2002 Ohio State national championship team.
The show will be in Columbus for Ohio State’s Week 1 clash with Notre Dame. For Saturday’s show, it was already announced that rapper Jack Harlow will perform and be the guest picker and Ohio State head coach Ryan Day will appear on the show, but this reunion was a pleasant surprise for many Ohio State fans.

The team will come together and will support the current Ohio State roster on GameDay. Saturday’s game between Ohio State and Notre Dame was already viewed as one of the biggest games of the year and the presence of the 2002 team only makes the game bigger.
2022 will be the 20th anniversary of Ohio State’s national championship team from that season. In 2002, Ohio State went undefeated with a 14-0 record. The Buckeyes clinched a national championship with a 31-24 win over Miami in the Fiesta Bowl.
That was former Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel’s 2nd season with the program. In his 1st season, Ohio State went 7-5 in 2001. The 2002 season was a complete turnaround and it set the tempo for what the rest of Tressel’s tenure at Ohio State would be.
Ohio State only had 1 other undefeated season since 2002, which came in 2012. The 2022 roster hopes to bring another national championship to Columbus.
The season will begin for Ohio State and Notre Dame on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
