Rutgers football enters 2022 looking to continue the rebuild for head coach Greg Schiano. On Wednesday, the program announces its list of captains for the 2022 season.
That group is led by Noah Vedral, the team’s primary starter at quarterback since the 2020 season. Vedral has been locked in a QB battle with Gavin Wimsatt this offseason but remains a key piece of the leadership group for the Scarlet Knights.
Former QB turned tight end Johnny Langan is also a captain entering his senior season. During 2021, Langan’s transition on offense saw him carry the ball 34 times, produce 18 catches and go 6-for-9 throwing the ball.
Here is the 6-man captain group for the Scarlet Knights:
- QB Noah Vedral
- TE Johnny Langan
- WR Shameen Jones
- DL Mayan Ahanotu
- DB Avery Young
- P Adam Korsak
