Jason McCourty had some scary news Tuesday. The former Rutgers alum who played for the Scarlet Knights from 2005-2008, was reportedly rushed to the hospital due to an issue with his appendix, per The US Sun.

McCourty’s forthcoming surgery came just hours after appearing on Tuesday’s edition of Good Morning Football on NFL Network. Apparently, McCourty did the show with an appendix that was hot, bothered and inflamed. He was replaced on Wednesday morning’s show last minute by Shaun O’Hara.

Peter Schrager – one of McCourty’s colleagues on the NFL Network – reacted to a tweet from McCourty Wednesday morning with the news.

Talk about playing through pain. NFL players are tough and McCourty seems to be no different. He also seemed to be in good spirits about the ordeal.

McCourty was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the 2009 NFL draft and won a Super Bowl championship with the Patriots during the 2018 season. He recorded 744 tackles and 18 interceptions over 13 NFL seasons. His brother, Devin McCourty, also played at Rutgers from 2006-2009.

Hopefully, he will be back on the air soon. NFL fans are likely glad to hear McCourty is doing fine.
