The B1G had three teams in action over the course of Week 0, and a number of players had standout performances.

In Dublin, Northwestern and Nebraska squared off in a thriller with the Wildcats mounting a comeback for a 31-28 win in the Aer Lingus Classic.

Back in Illinois, the Illini welcomed Wyoming to Champaign with Bret Bielema’s squad rolling to a big win to open the season.

In Ireland, the Northwestern offense racked up over 500 yards. That included a dominant rushing attack with 214 yards and 4.6 yards per carry against the Huskers.

For Illinois, it was a complete performance with the defense putting clamps down on Wyoming. The Illini defense held the Cowboys to 30 yards in the passing game and just 212 total yards of offense.

For their contributions, Northwestern OL Peter Skoronski and Illinois DB Jartavius Martin earned PFF Player of the Week honors. Skoronski was a key piece paving the way for Evan Hull and the backfield while Martin had 7 total tackles and 3 pass breakups against Wyoming.
