Anthony Grant was regarded as the No. 1 running back recruit in the junior college ranks and among the top 20 overall junior college recruits when he came to Nebraska in 2022.

On Saturday, he lived up to the hype, setting Nebraska’s record for most yards in the first 2 games of a players tenure with the Huskers.

Having the most rush yards wasn’t Grant’s only feat. Grant became the first RB to have back to back 100+ games since Devine Ozigbo in 2018. He also became the first Husker to go back-to-back of 100+ yards rushing in the first two games of the season at NU since Taylor Martinez in 2010.

Grant had a spectacular showing on Saturday, and the Huskers benefitted in a big way. It was Grant’s 46-yard touchdown run that put Nebraska ahead for the final time, giving the Huskers the 38-17 win.
