Mel Tucker and the Spartans lost a key piece of the defense in Week 1. That will force Michigan State’s defense to regroup heading forward.
On Monday, Tucker confirmed starting linebacker Darius Snow sustained a season-ending injury in the win over Western Michigan. Snow entered the season as a key piece after appearing in all 13 games with 9 straight starts to end the year in 2021.
Tucker also revealed the message he shared with Snow after the game. In his Monday press conference, Tucker revealed he told Snow to not let “anyone tell you what you can and can’t do.”
Mel Tucker said he talked with Darius Snow after the game Friday and told him, “Don’t let anyone tell you what you can and can’t do.” Mel went on to say, I wouldn’t count him out.

The Spartans will certainly miss Snow throughout the 2022 season, and Snow will face an uphill battle through his recovery and rehab. Hopefully, Snow is able to make a full recovery and get back on track for 2023.
