CJ Stroud says he’s not worried about things like stats and personal accolades. The Ohio State QB’s focus this year is simple: win.

The QB is already on the way to achieving his goal, having taken down Week 1 opponent Notre Dame. Stroud and the offense got off to a slow start, scoring only 1 touchdown in the first quarter. The slow start left the Buckeyes trailing 10-7 going into the half, while Stroud was 11-of-17 for only 99 yards.

Keeping his goal of winning in mind, Stroud engineered a go-ahead TD drive late in the third quarter to bring the Buckeyes roaring back to life. The Ohio State defense shut out the Irish in the second half, while the Buckeyes scored a second touchdown in the 4th quarter.

Stroud is also looking to win more than just games, having entered the conversation for Heisman. Even though the QB’s chances remain relatively small, Stroud has an opportunity to do what he likes most over the course of the season: win.
