Franco Harris to receive ultimate honor from Pittsburgh Steelers during 2022 NFL season

Franco Harris is an NFL Hall of Famer and Pittsburgh Steeler icon. During the 2022 season, he will have his number retired by the historic franchise.
“What can I say but wow,” said Harris. “I am blown away, and I’d like to thank Art and the Rooney family for this honor. Thank you very, very much.”
Best known for his “immaculate reception,” Harris was a star at Penn State before joining the Steelers.

During his time with the Nittany Lions during the late 1960s and early 70s, Harris rushed for 2,002 yards and 24 touchdowns. Harris still ranks 18th on the program’s all-time rushing list and tied for 14th on the program’s rushing touchdown list.
In the NFL, Harris rushed for over 12,000 yards, captured 4 Super Bowl titles, 1 Super Bowl MVP trophy, 9 Pro Bowls and 1 All-Pro team. He is still the franchise’s all-time leader in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns.
Harris’ No. 32 jersey will be retired during a Week 16 game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
