4 B1G programs make top 10 for players on NFL active rosters

The SEC gets a ton of credit for being a “big-time” college football credit and it’s hard to argue with the conference’s championship results. With that said, the Big Ten knows a thing or two about high-level football, and most NFL scouts would seem to agree with that statement.
It’s not words on a page or blank platitudes, either. The Big Ten and some of its programs are straight-up NFL factories. In fact, four Big Ten schools — Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, and Iowa — find themselves in the Top 10 when it comes to the colleges that have produced the most players on active rosters heading into Week 1 of the 2022 NFL season.
The 10 schools with the most players on 53-man rosters as Week 1 begins:
1. Alabama: 58
2. LSU: 53
3. Ohio State: 51
4. Georgia: 43
5. Notre Dame: 35
6. Penn State: 34
7. Michigan: 33

Between the four Big Ten powerhouses, that’s 148 NFL players, and it’s not just a bunch of bench-warmers coming out of the conference either.
Some of the members of the NFL’s Top 100 players of 2022 to hail from the Big Ten include T.J Watt (Wisconsin), Jonathan Taylor (Wisconsin), J.C. Jackson (Maryland), Micah Parsons (Penn State), Joey Bosa (Ohio State), Stefon Diggs (Maryland), Nick Bosa (Wisconson), and George Kittle (Iowa), among others.
