Michael Thomas is looking to have a big year in New Orleans. The former Ohio State Buckeye says he is “trying to top” his record-setting 2019 season in which he caught 149 balls for 1,725 yards and 9 touchdowns.

Pretty high expectations (Via New Orleans Saints.com):

“At the end of the day, the one thing I’ve learned is that the game does not change,” Thomas said. “There might be new players that come in, there might be new coaches, the game doesn’t change.

“It’s all about creating separation, getting open, making the play, competing, being physical, and those things I take pride in. Those things I work on every day, so I like my chances when the ball comes or when my number is called, making that play and taking advantage of every opportunity. Just being locked in, I feel like the sky is the limit.”

Thomas missed the entire 2021 season due to an ankle injury dating back to the previous year. The 6-foot-3 wideout recorded just 40 receptions for 438 yards in 2020.

That is a far cry from his first four seasons in the league when Thomas totaled 470 receptions for 5,512 yards and 32 touchdowns.

Thomas looks to start his big season against the Falcons on Sunday.
