The New Orleans Saints will be signing a new offensive guard to their active roster, per multiple sources on Thursday morning.

Ahead of the Week 1 games, Wyatt Davis former Ohio State OL, will be calling New Orleans home.

Davis, a third-round pick in the 2021 draft by the Minnesota Vikings was cut after playing in six games as a rookie, per NBC Sports writer Josh Alper. He was waived after final cuts last month thus signing him to the Giants practice squad after being unclaimed by the Vikings.

In an interesting move after the Giants signed OT Roy Mbaeteka to their practice squad, the Saints are signing Davis to the active roster, according to Dan Salomone, managing editor of Giants.com.

This roster move comes by way of Saints’ recent injuries. With the Saints releasing offensive tackle Tanner Owens, center Erik McCoy out with a calf injury and veterans, offensive guard Josh Andrews and center Nick Martin on the practice squad, per Josh Hendrix of Sports Illustrated.

Week 1 is inching closer and this move for Davis will add more depth for the Saints’ offense. The real test awaits this Sunday, Sept. 11, against the Falcons in Atlanta, Ga., at 1:00 p.m. ET.
