Russell Wilson is entering his 11th NFL season in 2022, but he enters it in an unusual place. After beginning his career with the Seattle Seahawks, Wilson enters new territory as the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos.
Adding to the intrigue, Wilson begins that journey with a Monday Night Football contest as the visiting QB in Seattle. It should be an electric environment to begin the season.
Wilson discussed that return Thursday and said that has “gratitude” for playing 10 years under head coach Pete Carroll. He went on to say he “gave my heart and soul every day” and knows Seahawk fans will be ready with a wild environment.
Wilson: "Just having the gratitude just to be able to play for 10 years under Coach Carroll and the organization, just everybody. I cherish every moment of it. I was hoping that it would all work out and we'd be able to figure out all the details out and we weren't able to." https://t.co/EjpRPjG65T

Carroll was also asked about Wilson’s return and the fan reception, but the head coach declined to get into what should happen. He said he will leave that up to “the 12’s.” He also claimed the game will not be any different with Wilson on the opposing sideline.
Pete Carroll on how he thinks Russell Wilson will be received by fans: "You're either competing or you're not. I'm leaving it up to the 12's. It's game time. … However they take it, I'll follow their lead."

Carroll, on seeing Russell Wilson on the opposite sideline: It's not gonna be any different. He's a terrific player. This has been a long time coming. We're in good shape. #Seahawks
