Minnesota started its season off with a 38-0 blowout of New Mexico State on Sept. 1. Now, after an extended layoff, the Golden Gophers return to the field on Saturday to take on FCS Western Illinois.

It’s just the 2nd time the 2 teams have faced each other on the gridiron. The last time was in 2013, a 29-12 Minnesota victory. The Golden Gophers will be a heavy favorite in this one as they look to go 2-0 on the young season, which would be their first 2-0 start since starting the 2019 campaign 9-0. Meanwhile, the Gophers’ shutout of NMSU in Week 1 was the first time they have held an opponent scoreless at home since 2006.

Ahead of the matchup at Huntington Bank Stadium, Minnesota released its game trailer as it prepares to face the Leathernecks. You can watch it below:

Minnesota and Western Illinois kick off from Minneapolis Saturday at noon ET on the Big Ten Network.
